On Nov. 19, varsity football lost to Dartmouth in its final game, compiling a season record of one win and nine losses. This matched its record of 2010. Over the past two seasons, football has won two games and lost 18, the worst stretch since Princeton starting playing football in 1869.

Does anyone know what has happened to this once-storied program? Has the admission office curtailed recruiting football prospects for other purposes? Game attendance has reached pitiful levels, and perhaps the loss of fan interest has signaled the administration that football is no longer important to the University.

For those of us who still do care, it would be nice to hear from someone with inside knowledge of why football is in a moribund state.
