C.B. Moya died Sept. 16, 1993, after a long illness. He was born near Belen, N.Mex., but grew up in Albuquerque. C.B. prepared at Highland H.S. in Albuquerque. At Princeton, he majored in history, graduating magna cum laude. After that, he attended Navy officer candidate school in Newport, R.I., and spent five years off the coast of Vietnam on the U.S.S. Hammer. He was spot promoted to It. commander and offered a regular commission.

After the Navy, C.B. went to the Univ. of New Mexico Law School, then taught at Harvard Law and did legal research in Europe. He also served for one year as the deputy general counsel for the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund. From 1973-76, he taught law at the Univ. of Utah as an associate professor. After that, he moved to northern California and settled near Sebastopol, where he bought and sold real estate and practiced law. In 1986, he returned to New Mexico, where he continued to buy, remodel and sell real estate, and also held a position with Western Network, an environmental institute.

C.B. was married and divorced twice, traveled widely, and experienced to the fullest everything life could offer. He was well liked by almost everyone he encountered and will be missed by his family and friends. The class extends its sympathy to C.B.’s survivors.
