Your survey of the “The Best Old Place of All” brought back fond memories of Princeton that I attended more than 60 years ago. I cannot forget my little carrel in Firestone, where I spread out my books and notes and wrote a senior thesis (1952–53). Firestone was not as beautiful as Pyne Library, but it had functional carrels where we could create our first literary masterpiece.
