Dick was a great and true friend, a prolific reader, and a charismatic professional in the Defense Department-related industry.

He and contemporaries often held court at Sunday brunch at Brown Thomson Co. in Hartford, followed by fishing, target practice, and barbecues at the prestigious lodge in West Willington, Conn., of his friend and owner of the Hermann Schmidt aerospace supplier in East Hartford.

Dick was a many-faceted individual, held in awe at the Defense Department procurement conventions I attended with him.

We lost him way too young due to the ravages of diabetes which overcame him. Dick, I think of you all the time and miss you always.
