Hard to be an American and to be educated at Princeton, where Woodrow Wilson pushed everything British as better than everything American, without some concern about Britain today. It is also hard to want a British parliamentary system with all the Wilsonian advantages, now obviously not very appealing or convincing.

I used to think the American Revolution a mistake. But with the rule of frumpy Theresa May and the Tories and the dreadful alternative of the Labourites under Corbyn, I still think perhaps the reign of George III was better than either Britain or America today!
