Arnold Brooks, a retired technology manager at the General Electric Co., died July 24, 2015, at the age of 89.

Brooks graduated from Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1947 and served in the Navy. In 1956, he graduated from Princeton, earning a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering.

He had a long and distinguished career in engineering and advanced research management at General Electric. For his efforts, Brooks received G.E.’s CEO Award.

For Princeton, he was a member of the APGA board and the Alumni Council’s Executive Committee in the 1990s. During those years, he was an Alumni Schools Committee volunteer, interviewing high school students applying to Princeton. He was also a longtime donor to the Graduate School’s Annual Giving campaign.

Brooks was predeceased by his wife, Lenore. He is survived by four sons, including Peter ’76 and Matthew ’85; and grandchildren Sarah, Adam, and Kate.
