I received several bids and joined a terrific club where I made numerous friends and remain actively supportive today. Even so, bicker itself was an extremely unpleasant experience. I had one particularly distasteful interview with an upperclassman from a club where I had many friends and was really interested in. This particular individual treated me in an arrogant, condescending manner and I’m sure gave me a failing grade which ultimately cost me a bid to that club. There’s something wrong when you are judged on one highly superficial 10-15 minute conversation rather than by numerous people who know you personally for over a year. I’m sure others had similar experiences. This taught me that life isn’t fair and to make the best of your circumstances. I guess my Princeton education extended well beyond the classroom.
