In Response to: The D Word
I have no problem with the University divesting from fossil-fuel companies if they believe that will have an impact. However we should be consistent and divest ourselves of any Communist Chinese investments as well. China plans to continue growing its carbon emissions until at least 2030 and doesn’t plan to be carbon neutral until 2060. It contributes 23% of the world’s carbon emissions. Pressure needs to be applied and we need to be consistent if we truly are interested in addressing climate change.
