In Response to: Homecoming

The story of Terri Sewell ’86’s path (feature, Dec. 8) was a bright spot, in a politically dark time, for this Alabama public high school graduate. My schools were segregated, and Princeton then was nearly so. Thank heavens we’ve come this far, though there is still far, far to go, especially in the current South. It will in no way diminish Ms. Sewell’s accomplishments if I note that my roommate, Dr. J. Richard Williams Jr. ’61, was a graduate of Selma High School, class of 1957.
