The start of the U.S.-led war in Iraq in March 2003 brought demonstrations â pro and con â to the steps of Robertson Hall. On the afternoon of March 20, during the Universityâs spring break, war protesters from the Princeton Peace Network gathered in the rain for a rally, followed by a march through town. The following week a contingent of Princeton students, organized as the Princeton Committee Against Terrorism, rallied in support of the war.

More activism would follow in the coming months, including staged âdie-insâ by Princeton Students United for Peace and protests of Secretary of State Colin Powell, who came to speak at Alexander Hall in February 2004.
