The University reported in mid-May that 68.6 percent of students had accepted offers of admission for the Class of 2019. The final yield will not be reported until the fall; the yield for the Class of 2018 was 66.2 percent. Dean of Admission Janet Rapelye said 20 to 25 students were expected to be admitted from the waitlist by June 30. At the Graduate School, offers and acceptances for underrepresented U.S. minorities and for women in science and engineering were the highest in recent years. The grad school’s total yield declined from 49.4 percent last year to 48.4 percent. Compared to last year, a higher percentage of Ph.D. candidates accepted offers of admission, but the yield declined for master’s-degree applicants.
