People forget that Wilson hated the American political system and wanted a parliamentary system which would offer fewer obstacles to government by experts. When you start to enumerate Wilson's flaws -- racism, naivete about the demands of ethnic minorities in lands with a variety of hostile ethnic groups, stubborn resistance to legitimate demands about the League of Nations needing change, along with his disdain for what we normally call democracy -- Princetonians might want to obliterate his presence on campus as professor and president.
