John S. Weeren is founding director of Princeton Writes, a program designed to strengthen the practical communication skills of University employees and students. Between 2004 and 2013, he served as President Shirley M. Tilghman’s speechwriter, following a 10-year association with Princeton’s Seeley G. Mudd Manuscript Library, first as a project archivist and then as assistant University archivist for public services. Born in the United States and raised in Canada, he holds an M.A. in history from the University of British Columbia.
