In Response to: Thomas R. Poole ’58

I couldn’t agree more with Alison and Bernard.

I returned to Queensland University in in my 30s in 1974, and had the good fortune to meet Tom when I selected his Russian history subjects in 1976. His lectures and tutorials were always fascinating and thought-provoking, and he was the only history lecturer I met who insisted that we have at least a reasonable grasp of the geography of our area of study. I kept in touch with Tom and Heidi for many years after graduation, but lost touch around 2015 or so, obviously when Tom became really ill. Please give Heidi and family my very belated sympathies.
