Harry Noel Sandstedt ’59

Body

HARRY DIED June 21, 1991, after a yearlong illness. His energy and determination kept him active and productive to the end.

Following graduate work at the Univ. of Pennsylvania, Harry joined DuPont, establishing himself as a preeminent authority in research and marketing of non-woven fiber filtration. He spent the last five years with Reemay, Inc., the world's eighth largest producer of nonwoven products, only the third American to become president of the Filtration Society (U.K.), Harry was the only person to have been president of both that organization and the American Filtration Society,

Harry maintained lifelong interests in photography, science, and music. He met his wife, Bari, in a Philadelphia church choir. He was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church choir, West Chester, Penn., and sang in a barber shop quartet until shortly before his death.

In addition to his widow, Harry is survived by his father; two daughters, Lauren Barrett and Julie; a son, Harry A.; and a brother, John P. '62.

Many will remember Harry for his professional achievements. Those who knew him well will remember him for his candor, his intellect, his storytelling, and his love of life and family.
