R. Douglas Kerr ’46
He came to Princeton from Greenwich, Conn., in 1942, was a member of Tiger Inn, and graduated with a degree in industrial psychology in 1948. Between 1943 and 1945 he was a flight instructor at the Naval Air Station, Bunker Hill, Ind., attaining the rank of lieutenant junior grade.
Doug began his career in retail furniture sales in Miami, worked as a manufacturer’s sales representative for the New York City area, and opened his own retail furniture store in Sarasota, Fla., in 1960. In 1977 he became a sales representative again, and in 1971 moved to northern Virginia, again in retail furniture sales.
He married his second wife, Charlotte, in 1989. In addition to his wife, Doug is survived by three children from his first marriage, Scott Carlile Kerr, Tobias Dexter Kerr, and Melinda Kerr Wiles; and four grandchildren. The class extends its sympathy to them all.
