I was his student at School of the Visual Arts in the late 1970s. A memorable, insightful, encouraging person.
I googled him a few years ago, thinking about contacting him to say hello, and then today, again, drinking tea, reading John Ashbery’s “Local Time,” poem from And the Stars Were Shining, in between writing the first several lines of a prose/poem.
Thinking how his life mattered. I hope he had a good one. Thanks, Jack.
