ERIC JEFFERSON, a graduate student in the doctoral program in molecular biology at Princeton, died Oct. 23, 1993. Born Feb. 6, 1970 in Fredericksburg, Va., Eric graduated cum laude from St. Stephen's Preparatory School in Alexandria, Va., in 1987 and was awarded his bachelor's degree in biology at Carnegie Mellon Univ. in 1993.

Eric's life was marked by a host of activities depicting concern for others. These include volunteer work repairing innercity homes, tutoring public school students, and help with the Special Olympics. He was a debater and an achiever in French and advanced physics. As a young man of faith, he served as an acolyte at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Springfield, Va.

Survivors include his parents, Dr. and Mrs. David K. Jefferson; his sister, Kimberly; and his brother, Craig. To the members of Eric's family, we extend sincere condolences in their loss of so promising a young life.
