J. Jay Nichols ’46

Body

Jay came to Princeton from Evanston (Ill.) High School in 1942, but stayed here for only a year. After World War II, he joined the Pure Oil Co. in a marketing capacity. He remained at Pure Oil until 1965, when the company merged with Union Oil of California.

In 1966, he married Roberta Vilas and became associated with the United Bank of Chicago as vice president of commercial loans. He was with United until 1973, when, as he said at our 50th, he decided to enjoy the good life.

Jay is survived by his wife, to whom the class extends its sympathy.
