Roy G. Stohlman II ’60

Roy died March 14, 2026, in his old hometown of Appleton, Wis.
Roy was born in Lincoln, Neb., moved to Appleton in his early years, and graduated from Appleton Senior High School, where he was active in forensics, dramatics and sports.
At Princeton, Roy pursued American history and pre-law studies at the Woodrow Wilson School and joined Charter Club and Whig-Clio. He then earned an L.L.B. degree at Harvard in 1963 and went on to work in government with the Federal Home Loan Board in Washington, D.C., through the early 1970s.
Roy then returned to Appleton and in time established his own private law practice there. He served his country as a member of the Army National Guard. He was also an accomplished golfer, bridge player, world traveler, and an avid reader.
Roy is survived by his brother-in-law, Jack Gillespie.
