After the death of College president Samuel Finley, executors of his estate sell his belongings outside of what is now Maclean House: furniture, cattle, books, and “two Negro women, a  Negro man, and three  Negro children.” 22 OCT. King George II charters the College of New Jersey, now Princeton University, in Elizabeth, N.J. The seven founding trustees all owned slaves.
