As this yearâs Outdoor Action groups return from the trails, we dial back the clock a few years to September 2008, when nearly 700 freshmen in the Class of 2012 bonded on hiking, climbing, and canoeing trips to eight states. A PAW Online slide show captured scenes from several of those âfrosh trips,â including this one in the Catskills. Director Rick Curtis â79 said that the record-high participation rate â 55 percent of the class â was spurred partly by a new program that provided free trips to students on financial aid.
