WPRB: 70 years of jazz, opera, rock, and more

Dec. 15 marks the 70th anniversary of campus radio at Princeton, a venture that was launched in a junior’s dorm room and now occupies 2,700 square feet in the basement of Bloomberg Hall. WPRB’s broadcast schedule still includes the classical tunes that were part of its early repertoire, along with jazz, opera, world music, rock, news updates, and sports coverage. Following is a timeline of highlights from WPRB and its predecessor, WPRU.
