Beloved Builder of Ballparks

As Larry's friend and local adviser, I was touched by Brett Tomlinson’s memoriam to our classmate. Larry would have wanted it noted, howbeit, that he and Janet Marie created “ballparks.” These cathedrals to baseball have heart, character, and an aesthetic that complements their revitalized urban surroundings. “Stadia” are impersonal multiplexes without the soul or the historic beauty of Larry’s inclusive, fan considerate “parks.” He would have abhorred that citation.

Although his presence at Polar Park in Worcester was abbreviated, he loved the city and it, in turn, loved him. We miss him.
