I grew up without TV so only experienced such programs sporadically (although I know all the verses of the Davy Crockett anthem by heart), but my experience as a grad student at a land grant state university is that we Boomers pushed back against the consensus school of historiography. At least that is what I associate with the 1960s, which in fact extended into the mid-’70s.
