Elites and Their Persistence

Only a naive, utopian leftist could be surprised at the persistence of elite culture and privilege. This has always been there, for thousands of years. Why all the tears now? I suspect all the tears and cries are only part of a general assault on excellence, privilege, wealth, and accomplishment by those who have made it their mission to try to make all of us guilty of all the crimes, real and imaginary, that the pundits feel so deeply.
