Everyone down here in the South...

Everyone down here in the South knows that the Democrats are the party of the blacks and their liberal friends while the Republicans are the party of whites. How does this describe what happened in the recent election? The South remained solidly Republican, save for Virginia. Trump won because of white voters in the North: Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania; with only the South he could not have won. This professor professes incorrectly, not something unknown among Princeton liberals.
