I knew David P. F. Hess as a Marine with the 3rd Recon on Okinawa in 1958-59. He was the commander of the 3rd platoon of C company. We went on numerous missions from submarines, destroyers, and troop ships to all over the Pacific Ocean from Taiwan to Borneo. I remember him as a fair and brave leader when faced with danger from the seas. Gung Ho.
