Fleming’s Memorable Opening Line

I was saddened to see in the July/August issue that English professor John Fleming had passed away. I’ll never forget his line in the opening lecture of his English course, in about 1970: “By the end of this lecture, you will have heard all of my ideas and seen half of my shirts.”
