I have seen a lot of Mr. Stengel on television, and he is always intelligent and stimulating. But however able he is, can one be a bit skeptical in the case of disinformation? Every government, every politician everywhere indulges in disinformation for the sake of his/its own needs and interests. In this age of electronic media, everything of course occurs faster and with more undesirable results most of the time, but the problem is a human one having to do with flawed human beings trying to pretend they are something else. Good luck. Read about the administrations of Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson, and then tell me what you think has really gotten worse and can be fixed.
