As a graduate from a school then on the quarter system (U. Minn., ‘62), I’ll observe that was one advantage we had over most schools on the semester system: finals before the holidays and before the start of Winter Quarter (“free as a bird”). Most semester schools have gone to finals in December and some sort of J -Term. Princeton should also. In addition, per the note by M. Weed, the Spring finals should be given before Memorial Day.
