We moved to 220B Eisenhower Street in 1952, when I was 5 weeks old. My father got a job as junior faculty, teaching music composition at Princeton. I have written many stories about life on Eisenhower Street. It was a wonderful place for kids. We called the housing “chicken coops.” The community there was something I will never forget. Kids had complete freedom to roam because it was an enclosed community. We thought it was a vast landscape. I visited as an adult and saw how tiny everything really was.
