Well, some people do change for the better. Halifax was a notorious appeaser alongside Prime Minister Chamberlain and even tried to persuade Churchill to seek the help of Mussolini in making up with Hitler. He did finally come to see the error of his ways, but whether that makes him a hero outside of Princeton remains to be seen.
