I sympathize with those who can no longer reminisce by gazing at their Firestone carrel. At least they can visit the building. As an engineer, I did my senior independent work at Forrestal, in and around the Long Track. For those who don't know, this was a 750-foot-long building in which you could "fly" model aircraft on an instrumented carriage. Gone without a trace.
