U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell ’86 of Alabama is the embodiment of “Princeton in the Nation’s Service and in the Service of All Nations.” We can all be proud how she has picked up the legacy of the late Congressman John Lewis of Georgia as the voice of civil rights in Congress. As a Mississippi based member of the Class of 1968, it is my honor to note that Terri is also a legacy of our dear late classmate Julian McPhillips ’68, , Esq., who read about her success as a Selma High School student, contacted her to both apply and enroll at Princeton, and later encouraged her to run for Congress. Thank you, PAW, for recognizing this amazing national leader.
