Memories of WPRB

I enjoyed your excellent review of WPRB’s 75-year history. It brought back so many memories. In 1964–65, I was the sports director for the station and did play-by-play for both football and basketball. I had grown up in the New York City area, listening to so many legendary sports announcers. My experience at WPRB was a dream come true. And I had the privilege of describing the accomplishments of two great teams, our undefeated football team led by Cosmo Iacavazzi ’65 and our Final Four basketball team captained by Bill Bradley ’65.

Thirty years later, our son Daniel ’96 became music director at WPRB. We both love Motown music and, for my 50th birthday, Dan did a two-hour Marvin Gaye special in my honor. I still listen to the tapes! Thanks to WPRB for being such an important part of our Princeton experiences.
