Nathaniel Preston was my academic adviser at American and taught Modern Government (among other courses), which I took from him as one of my first courses when I transferred to the university in September 1996. As you know, he was a polio survivor. He walked with braces, and it was very sad to watch such a handsome and accomplished man having been a victim of this insidious virus.
