The Most Memorable Student That Never Took My Course
What a nice surprise to read about Tracy! I remember her very well. She lived in the UC Berkeley dormitories when we started the Faculty in Residence (FIR) Program (I was inspired by the professors living in Princeton dormitories). I recommended that she take my specialty course, Food Microbiology. Unfortunately I didn’t realize that my course had been removed from the roster when I retired from the department to start the FIR Program. Therefore she was never officially my student. Nevertheless, we had many memorable conversations in the UC Berkeley dining commons!
