This piece seeks to show that not only the volunteers got something out of the experience but the native targets did also. That is what I wonder about. Many Americans in politics and public life have Peace Corps experience on their resumes. What did it do for them? Did it do anything for those in far off places they encountered? With the world as it is now one wonders if all this had any positive result at all. Of course, it beats fighting in our many wars abroad.
