Perhaps the Refugees Would Have Been Welcome If ...

"Refugees' Dilemma" (PAW, 4/11/18) says that refugees became unwelcome in Germany after "hundreds of German women claimed assault by roughly 1,000 foreign men, mostly of Arab origin." Perhaps such assaults would have been rare had their leaders previously vociferously condemned violence against women. (Claiming that such accusations are unfounded would be inconsistent with believing accusations of sexual assault on American campuses.)
