Just to set the record straight: I was with Joe Schein ’37 in the P-rade, and he absolutely did not slow anything down (“The Marshal Plan,” July 9). He actually was walking faster than the carts were moving! His granddaughter who was with him tried to slow him down, but he was having none of that. Turns out the delay was a fellow in ’39 who was trying not to be outdone by another classmate who was walking. Joe is my hero, as are all of the Old Guard who brave walking in the P-rade.
