For reasons that I really can’t explain I was thinking of John earlier this evening. I got to know him when I was living in Madison, Wisconsin. He was a quiet and extremely pleasant modest fellow who always was a treat to spend time with. He had a great sense of irony. I had not been aware of the fact that he had gone to Princeton. But, then, I never mentioned that I was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania during any of our conversations. I’m sorry that I did not stay in touch with him after I left Madison.
