I find it kind of sad that in writing this profile, Mr. Bernstein finds it necessary to genuflect to the anti-scientific left by carefully mentioning that Dr. Arnold does not work on genetically modified foods, when throughout the rest of the article she makes it clear that genetic modification is genetic modification is genetic modification, regardless of the method. The opposition to golden rice (to take one example) has allowed millions of annual childhood deaths and a couple of hundred million illnesses from Vitamin A deficiency to continue unabated, when the actual science on GMO risk is pretty clear.
