It should in no way detract from Brian Kernighan *69’s distinction of having submitted “the first machine-readable computer-printed” (doctoral) thesis at Princeton on record (feature, Jan. 11) to report that my erstwhile roommate and lifelong friend, Morgan Kousser ’65, professor of history and social sciences at Caltech, similarly submitted his senior thesis four years earlier.
