I just noticed your response. And you make lots of good points. But the simple fact, or at least I think it’s a fact, is that Gore would have won if Nader hadn’t run. The fact that Republican functionaries and judges compromised Florida added to the problem, but none of that would have mattered if Nader hadn’t run. Florida would have gone to Gore, and he would have been president.
I admire you for sticking up for your friend. But I stand by my criticism of him, and of Perot, who was the culprit for Clinton beating Bush. As you can see, I’m no fan of Quixotic, ego-driven third-party candidates.
