I’ve always admired and been proud of “Princeton in the nation’s service” and the University’s efforts to diversify the undergraduate body, which it certainly was not when I matriculated. But one can carry a good thing too far. I read that 43 percent of the Class of 2018 comes from “various racial and ethnic backgrounds.” Given that 77.7 percent of the U.S. population is Caucasian, could it be that the admission office is discriminating against worthy Caucasian applicants?
