Greed Rules

Upton Sinclair famously wrote, “It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” We have the proof here yet again. No amount of greenwashing will make man’s actions or conscience clean. The drug dealer, the plastic bag seller, and the peddlers of soft drinks all claim to be addressing a market. In truth, they are making money on the misery of others and shielding their faces from their responsibility. In the nation’s service? In the service of all nations? I think not.
