What Advice Would Be Good Advice?

With colleges and universities in a very unpopular position now, owing mostly to their greed and anti-social behaviors regarding fees and tuitions, one wonders what advice to give graduate students, many of whom would probably try to end up in university teaching. Their prospects right now, especially in the poorly paid professions for professors and the more than likely benefit-less packages they might be offered, I would probably urge caution about the future.
