Living Responsibly While Maximizing Returns

Princeton’s endowment management has one purpose, to maximize return to the University, representing all alumni that created the endowment sums, commensurate with appropriate risk management. You would expect no different from someone managing your portfolio.

Divestment is nothing more than a political statement and makes no difference to the industries because Princeton’s investment is minute in the scheme of things.

Hydrocarbons are intertwined in almost all of economic activity (estimated at 96% in a CNBC on-air report). Required for all mining (including materials for EVs, solar panels, cellphones, computers, and so much more), most shipping and trucking (of all goods), most power, heating, industrial, etc. World demand for hydrocarbons is still growing, so don’t close your eyes to our world. You literally can’t live, clothe, eat, or travel without hydrocarbons. So do it better and as responsibly as possible.

And focus environment concern and dollars to the far more important near-term issues of water quality and quantity.
