Regarding the 1986 Firestone Library excavation (From the Archives, June issue): I well remember an earlier excavation, especially the wooden wall erected around it, and the many creative murals painted on the wall.
As a first-year student in 1969-70, I worked at the Student Center in Chancellor Green and walked past the murals on an almost daily basis.
